You might be thinking that you can’t help BMAR because you can’t adopt one of the dogs. This may be due to, too small of a place, apartment complex doesn’t allow pets, etc. No matter what the reason, there’s nothing preventing you from coming down to BMAR and spending time with the dogs. On average, we have between 20 to 60 dogs at BMAR that need attention. BMAR also rescues other breeds besides Akitas, including cats, Labs, Pit bulls, German shepherds, etc.

You can come down to BMAR and walk the dogs, brush the dogs, play with the dogs, give the dogs belly rubs (hey, we Akita’s love belly rubs and there NEVER seems to be enough of them) or even sit down, snuggle up to and read a book to one of the dogs. It doesn’t matter if you spend 30 minutes or many hours with the dogs. They love the time they spend with you; they love meeting new people so come on down.

BMAR is located at 2155 E. Havana Ave., Aurora, Colorado.
